**Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball Reaches NIT Second Round** Iowa City, Iowa - The Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team has advanced to the second round of the 2024 National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The Hawkeyes will face off against the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City on March 21st. Iowa secured their berth in the second round with a hard-fought victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the first round. The Hawkeyes showed resilience and determination throughout the game, coming away with a hard-earned win. "I'm proud of the effort our guys put in tonight," said head coach Fran McCaffery. "We knew Nebraska was going to be a tough opponent, but our players stepped up and made some big plays when we needed them most." Iowa has a long and storied history in the NIT, winning the tournament in 1970 and 1980. The Hawkeyes are hoping to add to their success this year by continuing their run in the tournament. "We're excited to be playing in the second round," said senior guard Jordan Bohannon. "We know it's going to be a tough game against Utah, but we're ready for the challenge."
